Mobilities

Hungary, September 2021

After a year of postponement, the Erasmus + program was relaunched at the Széchenyi István Technical School in Nyíregyháza. The first mobility of the Learning Environment for Entrepreneurship Education project took place in Hungary between 27 September 01 October 2021. Teachers from Sicily, Romania, Spain, Germany and Iceland joined the project, during which they got information about the peculiarities of vocational training in Hungary, as well as they could know the methods and work of external organizations that promote the development of entrepreneurial competencies. Within the framework of the professional program compiled by the teachers of the Hungarian school, after the presentation of the social and legal environment, the guests could receive detailed information about the current situation of vocational training and the theoretical knowledge of entrepreneurial thinking. A presentation was given by the student companies operating in the institution. Our programs have been enriched by other organizations as well that feel a willingness and commitment to education in entrepreneurship. Thus, the representatives of the Junior Achievement Hungary organization came to our institution and held a very successful demonstration class in the framework of experiential teaching. They organised a game about the mysteries of the stock exchange with the participation of the 12th grade students. It was a great opportunity for us to have our event honoured by László Mészáros, president of the ‘MICE Foundation for the Future with Qualified Youth’, and Gábor Zentai, Co-President of this organisation. László Mészáros gave a captivating and instructive account of the challenges of being an entrepreneur, starting with his own history of ethical entrepreneurship. Gábor Zentai presented new methodologies and programs, as well as the operation of the MICE Foundation. We continued our programs at external organizations, PRIMOM Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Enterprise Revitalization Foundation. The managing director Menyhért Jászai gave a meaningful report on the work of the Foundation, the programs and opportunities that help the entrepreneurs they provide. We visited the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where we could hear valuable information about the general tasks of the chamber, its role in vocational training and career guidance activities. We closed the visit at the University of Nyíregyháza, where we could hear useful information about the training structure and the internationalization strategy in the lecture of Zoltán Magyar. We closed the mobility in Budapest, where we visited Mikó Botond, a student who graduated from the Hungarian school. Botond presented his business, which already employs dozens of workers. We were able to learn about the essence of entrepreneurship, the difficulties of being a young entrepreneur, innovations, and short-term and long-term goals.

Germany, May 2022

From May 2 to 6, 2022, the partners of the project) met with the hosts Ruth Wehner (head of “Team Europe” at KBS Nordhorn), Theresa Brüning and Holger Jouppien to exchange ideas on how students learn to think entrepreneurially and develop the skills or acquire qualifications to start their own business. The week and the program was organized by the three-member organizing team for their 16 guests under the keywords 'creativity' and 'innovation'. For a welcome, the guests got to know the school, among other things through guided tours with KBS students of the class of commercial assistants for foreign languages and correspondence, and received information about the German school system, conveyed by the coordinator Frauke Hofschröer. Fortunately, the Finance Minister of Lower Saxony, Reinhold Hilbers, had also registered and in his welcoming speech he emphasized the importance of European cooperation in educational matters. The guests presented their schools in a creative way by showing videos made by students. Next days, creativity exercises were on the agenda in so-called Future Workshop, participants learned a method for approaching tasks or problems in a team and creatively working on them in different steps. In addition, an exit game was presented in which groups have to solve tasks creatively, as in an Escape Room, in order to arrive at a solution. Innovative ideas were further presented by Karsten Müller, economic promoter of the city of Nordhorn, about the development of Nordhorn from a monostructural textile town to an innovative business location with various industries, as well as by Eoghan Buckley (corporate strategy and M&A) of List AG, about the development from a construction company. The buildings of the Economic Competence Center (Nino high-rise) and the 'Our Office' of List AG, e.g. with co-working spaces, cozy meeting corners and the Deli (supply area) impressed the guests with their open design. List AG in particular, with its New Work approach, described by coach Vanessa Jobst-Jürgens, shows how skilled workers can be recruited and retained in an innovative way. Max Schleper, a high school graduate from Nordhorn and (still) a student in Münster, reported in the conference room of the Alte Weberei on his founding of the start-up company 'send.it.green', which now organizes transports from parcels and mail over the 'last mile' from Münster in several German cities using environmentally friendly means of transport. On ThursdayThomas Büdden from the Osnabrück Innovation Center (ICO) gave an insight into the work of a start-up center, where research and innovation are the main focus. Susan Wache from the company Feelspace acted as one example, presenting a so-called "navi-belt". With this, visually impaired people can orient themselves better through vibrations in the belt The participants could be instructed by Stefan Veenaas, teacher at the GBS Nordhorn, in the basics of programming robots.

Benefits:

The participants were appreciated by the student presentations, in which the students pointed out the manifold activities of the KBS in the field of entrepreneurship. They could learn about the students' enterprises, how they work. In addition the student companies ensure that students learn about processes in a company and thus develop entrepreneurial thinking. Internships deepen theoretical knowledge and put it into practice. The participants could learn the process of the well organised dual education at school and companies which can be a good practice. During the company visits they could see the importance of creativity which was in focus for a week. Student companies serve as an other good practice, the little shop runned by students at school is a good possibilty to practice the learnt profession. All the partcipants could experience the well organised programmes and workshop thanks to the local teachers.

Our project was officially closed and evaluated with the joint staff training event organized and hosted by the school in Romania from 22 May to 26 May 2023 The participant schools have share their experience gained during the project implementation and the collected good practices were presented and discussed, materials were prepared for to disseminate the project. The event has also focused on objectives and tools to be applied to ensure its successful implementation and dissemination. During this event we are planning the following activities presenting by representatives of project partners. - Coordinators, project leaders have reported their activities done during the project, their experience. -The teachers evaluated experience-based teaching-learning , what they have learnt from this form of teaching method. - They exchanged good practices. - They summarised how they can corporate the project tasks into the vocational education. -They shared their lesson plans, thematic plans and collect different teaching methods - They reflected on the lesson plans - They gathered experiences and facts to compile the final report. All the teachers share their experience in their own schools to promote the obtained knowledge and results about entrepreneurial skills and teaching methods. We have made a final questionnaire about the whole project, evaluation process. All the partners have to prepare a summary about the results of the whole project in the form of a video.

Benefits:

The acquired methodologies should serve as an opportunity for improvement and an excuse for innovation. Also, the use of these troubleshooting techniques should be useful for solving future problems, since among the solutions rejected on a first occasion may be the solution of problems that may arise afterwards. Teachers working on this project have known a methodology worked out on international level with international teaching methods. They can change good practices with teachers from partner countries, they can develop their problem-solving skills and know the advantages of team work. They can get own experience how to set theory in practice in professional lessons. With the help of these new experiences, teachers can renew their teaching methodology, they share their lesson plans and thematic plans to try them later in the classroom. They could see the system of a company, a student enterprise and finally, teachers can develop their ICT, foreign language, good communication and entrepreneur skills.
